Multimedia contents
Africa is increasingly aware of the need to master information and communication technologies (ICTs) not only to improve the quality of education, but also to promote the socio-economic development of the continent. The integration of ICTs in educational practice gives more liveliness to interactions between students and their teachers. The question is if ICTs enable our learners to explore, find new knowledge and develop multimedia contents, why is the process of ICTs integration into curriculum being dragged?

Hi Buhle. There is one question that I think you should bear in mind. Who should implement ICT integration? Remember the disparities of the past are still a reality. Most teachers starting from the district are technophobic. Most teachers have ICT facilities at their work place, however they hardly use them. I can give you an analogy of teachers with expensive Cellphones that are video calling compliant but very few of them hardly understand how those facility work. Whatever great the facitiies we have, there won't be any progress. We need to have a mind set change in our fraternity. A workshop on culture change should be administerd to all stakeholders in teaching fraternity.
ReplyDeleteThat is a good question.I hope that ICT intergration into the curriculum will be speeded up.
